Happy Dog

Dogs are not our whole life, but they make our lives whole. ~Roger Caras

Some of my favorite things about Sadie:
1. She answers to the name "Poopy."
2. She is so terrified of the vacuum cleaner that she alternately barks at it and then runs away...and won't touch her toys when they wind up anywhere near the vacuum.
3. When given a treat, she runs full-force into our bedroom and jumps on the bed before eating it.
4. She'll chase a ball for hours inside, but she won't look twice at one outside (too busy chasing birds!).
5. Even though she weighs 30 lbs, she thinks she fits perfectly in your lap. (Ever been THISCLOSE to a lab/golden mix?)

She may be a spaz, but we love her!

CHiPs

Then...
Originally uploaded by merth2erth

Once upon a time, in a faraway land known at Pittsburgh, a young boy grew up with a love for cop-related television. Near the core of this obsession was a little TV show known simply as "CHiPs." The young boy's heart soared as he watched Ponch and Jon race up and down Hollywood Blvd. and catch the bad guys as members of the California Highway Patrol.

As the young boy grew, CHiPs faded into the distance as new shows (like Cops and Party Heat) took over the television waves. Thankfully, however, through modern-day technology, the boy no longer had to be separated from his first love.

Fast forward to the summer of 2007 and the release of CHiPs season 1 on DVD. Set out to introduce the world of early '80s cop drama to his beautiful bride (who somehow had missed watching CHiPs in its hey-day and only knew of Erik Estrada from his stint on the very brief-lived show "Armed and Famous"), the now grown man was soon basking in the glory of days gone by.

Long live Ponch and Jon!

The Dark Side

Well, here I am. I've finally crossed over to the world of blogging.

Maybe.

We'll see how it goes. The truth is, I'm more a "blog lurker" than a blog writer, but I guess there's a first time for everything.

Welcome to The House of Merth. I hope you enjoy your stay. :-)
