Once upon a time, in a faraway land known at Pittsburgh, a young boy grew up with a love for cop-related television. Near the core of this obsession was a little TV show known simply as "CHiPs." The young boy's heart soared as he watched Ponch and Jon race up and down Hollywood Blvd. and catch the bad guys as members of the California Highway Patrol.
As the young boy grew, CHiPs faded into the distance as new shows (like Cops and Party Heat) took over the television waves. Thankfully, however, through modern-day technology, the boy no longer had to be separated from his first love.
Fast forward to the summer of 2007 and the release of CHiPs season 1 on DVD. Set out to introduce the world of early '80s cop drama to his beautiful bride (who somehow had missed watching CHiPs in its hey-day and only knew of Erik Estrada from his stint on the very brief-lived show "Armed and Famous"), the now grown man was soon basking in the glory of days gone by.
Long live Ponch and Jon!
