Since I started sewing (you know, a month or two ago), I've had a particular project in mind. There are several things I'm interested in making, but one project in particular that served as the major motivation to get moving. I won't go into details here (I'll save that for another post), but the project involves making some quilt-block letters. I found patterns that I liked, but I thought I better get a little practice first. So, I made smaller versions of some of the letters.

I started with the "L" (with the help on one of my friends) and then proceeded to make the "O" as well. Since I like to have a "purpose" for my crafts, I decided to make my letters into something useful.
Ta-da!!!

My love pillow.
It's not perfect by any stretch of the imagination, but I'm pretty pleased with it. Not bad for my first real sewing project since 7th grade home ec!
Now, what should I make next?

Very cool! Doesn't it feel good to spend time with your sewing machine?
Well done Meredith! I'm impressed!
LOVE it!
Hmm... I wonder whose birthday is coming up... A homemade pillow would make a nice gift... :P
Well, you already know how to do the E L and O, how about an N?
Great job Meredith! It looks great! I cannot wait to see what you make next! My sewing machine just got fixed and I cannot wait to get at it again!
Wow! Apparently I need to check your site more often. Very impressive!! And so very "Martha Stewart".....I didn't get that gene. :)
